How You Can Get Through Fall Cleaning Without Stress

We all know about the global event that takes place every spring that encourages people to clean out their homes and get rid of all of the furniture and other items that they no longer want. But did you know that you can make your spring cleaning a lot easier if you do cleaning like that more than once a year?

Don't throw away all of your things every single season, but every other season will be a good pattern to try out if you want to keep your house clean. Here are few steps to help you get started with fall cleaning so that you can have a comfortable winter.

Make sure that you clean your mattress and blankets

Your bed is your safe space. This is where you rest your head at night, where your kids spend a lot of their time, and it is the one place that you need to make sure that you feel comfortable. If you don't get a good night of sleep, you are not going to be very useful for the rest of the day.

If you want to make sure that your winter is handled with care, you want to make sure that you are cozy in bed. Rip off all of your blankets, pillows, pillowcases, and sheets and clean them. Disinfect everything that you can

I'm not talking about disinfecting clothing, but you should make sure that you disinfect absolutely every hard flooring and counter that you can, without ruining it. This is to get rid of all of the bacteria that is sitting around, scare off any wild animals that might want to come into your home before the world outside becomes too cold for them to bear, and so that you can kill any leftover bugs so that they don't make your winter an absolute nightmare by breeding inside of your home. This will also give your home a fresh feel and smell once it is aired out after you mop the floor and clean the counters with bleach. Don't use bleach if it is harmful to any of your flooring or countertops. There are always alternatives, bleach is just one of the best if you want to make sure that everything is killed and has no chance of returning.

Fold your spring and summer clothes nicely and put them in a vacuum-sealed bag

Before you bring out all of your winter items, make sure that you take the time to properly prepare your spring and summer outfits for hibernation. You want to wash everything that you have from the spring and summer home collection, and fold it neatly. Once you have done this, buy a few vacuum-sealed bags and put them inside of them. This will not only keep your clothing safe from any moths that might want to nest inside of your clothing, but it will save you space in your closets, under your beds, and dresser drawers. Winter clothing items are not known to be small, so you will need all the space you can get if it is time for the big winter coats to come out.

Clean out your air conditioning unit and heater

Before you start to crank up that heat, make sure that you check to see if the filter inside of your heater or air conditioning unit needs to be cleaned up or replaced. This is something that you should be doing regularly, but if you don't remember or if you didn't know, it is definitely something that you will want to do before you start to use the heater to warm up your home during the long winter. Not cleaning your filter will give you bad air quality, give you a bigger chance of your heater breaking entirely, filling your home up with a terrible scent, and possibly a risk of fire. So, it might be safer to replace the filter or call someone to check it before the winter fully hits.
