That warm hug that tethers one soul to another
A slanted smile in crooked perfection
Beneath the autumn brown eyes that speak millions
A fairytale woven by interlocked fingers
A rapture of uncontrollable bliss and passion
Were all but fractions of a child's imagination
Of a hand wiping away a tear
When you wrap yourself with doubt and anxiety
Of what thin, soft lips pressed against your forehead
Spoke of calm and serenity
The allure and promise of wrinkled smiles and gray hairs
Are all improbable and incompatible with reality
Cause all things that fall break
All broken things, discarded
It was never the heart that leaps
It has always been logic leaving you brainless
Leaving a shadow of what could have been
what would you become
Had you not fool yourself to dream
As the sun rises, it will later set
So stand your guard and never have faith
Lock your heart and swallow the key
Save your self from ache and misery
I have no good thing to say about love
Since I have never loved anyway
