I should have left when I started to cry. I couldn't stop the tears. I wanted to wipe them all away.

I should have left when I was hurt. I couldn't forget the pain. It failed to heal.

I should have left when we couldn't agree on things that mattered to us. I was misunderstood. You were misunderstood. It led to an endless fight.

I should have left when our world became different. We became opposites. We had become the person we wanted to be.

I should have left when I felt hopeless. I couldn't save us. I couldn't fight for us. There was nothing I could do.

But mostly, I should have left when you told me to leave.

But, I didn't. I stayed.

So you left.

Fighting and being misunderstood is really a part of a relationship no matter how hard everything is you can be happy to what you have even though your fighting for a lot of things but its really the way when you feel sadness and depression in your heart good people stay for they are lonely and depressed without someone by their side and bad people leave with anger and sadness but crying in the end knowing they shouldn't have left you to fight for yourself. Hard truth yet nice writing :)

"We had become the person we wanted to be" - hit me like a brick. You're always trying to change the other person whilst in a relationship, and once they become the person you wanted them to become, you don't love them anymore, because they're not the same person you fell in love with. Toxic relationships are a horrid thing to happen to anyone. I've been in one myself. It sucks the living life out of you. All you do is give and give; all they do is take. Very well written! :)
