I have written every possible reason;
Why I love the rain
Why I love you
Now I am making a decision
with every fiber of my being,
with every broken fragment of myself;
To change all is to was
To transform all present adjectives to past
Of all I have written above
Were is more appropriate
To the line you are the reason
Why I love the rain
Caused is more convenient
When I said you cause
The happiness I feel
Now, love
I don't think any past tense would fit that
Adding the prefix un- wouldn't also be right
For I still love you
For I keep on loving you
For never will I unlove you
But starting now
I will stop comparing you
To the rain you were like before
You are now my sun;
Who burns my skin
Who hurts me
You are now my sun;
Who makes things grow
Who made me grow
You are now my sun;
Who gave life
To the love I have for myself
I still love the rain
Not because of you
But because of me
We are the one who's alike;
Dark yet beautiful
A broken hearted drummer
I'm the type of person who writes rather than sings "rain, rain go away."
