If You Must Fall In Love

Info

Love is a luxury not many can afford. It’s like a rare piece of art auctioned at a price beyond belief. A price not measured by money, but by the mere existence of you. A part of you that you ought to share and a part of you that you allow to grow. However, many are terrified to give a part of themselves to others either because they are afraid it might not get reciprocated or because they are not even whole yet (there is nothing to give) . It’s a rare piece of art because it’s not perfect; it’s unique, true, and only those who can afford it can understand it.  Many would fall for a Class A, accepting the “bare minimum” thinking it was love and yet it was nothing but a realistic imitation of the true gem. To afford love, you must harvest it from yourself. You must learn the process of planting.

First, you clean the site. Start with a clean slate, putting all the baggage of your past in the trash and keeping only the lessons which the history has taught you.

Second, you dig a hole. Dig deeper and truly get to know who you are because how can you let someone get to know you when you don’t even know yourself.

Third, you plant the seed. Plant love in yourself, even if it is easier said than done. You will eventually master it.

Fourth, water the seed. Take your time and let it grow. Let it grow that even when the pests come and try to destroy you, you won’t lose yourself in the process.

Fifth, harvest time. The fruit of the love you have given yourself is the price of the love you seek to receive. You cannot buy a gem if you only have pebbles to give. You cannot ask for the right person when you are not even the right person yet.

If you must fall in love, love them when you are whole. Water them so that they may grow. Have patience and take time, nothing grows overnight. Give them time if they need to heal, but never leave their side. Do not save them, rather support them while they save themselves. Communicate like how the wind communicates with the flower; peacefully and with a gentle touch. Grow a healthy kind of love because the world is cruel enough.
