I’m sorry
I’m sorry that I’ve become the girl that you never expect me to be
I’m sorry for fighting for what I love to do
For chasing my dreams like its breathing
And that it just feels so hard without it
I’m sorry for betraying you
And for being so stubborn
I’m sorry that I grew up learning the true meaning of life
That it isn’t just storms and rainbows
But it is that contentment of breathing the air of early morning
It is that smile that left their lips when you tried to joke around
It is that simple question that is important
Like “how was your day?” or that “are you okay?”
It is that simple hello and goodbye
I’ve learned that words can or could destroy you or uplift you
I’ve learned that you should be kind and everything else will follow
I’ve learned that spending time and talking random is the most beautiful thing to do
I’ve learned that being selfish is being alone
And giving means so much more than just an act
All these things
I just found them inside me after all those times of picking myself up all over again.
