INDIA: A MELODY

Info

INDIA a country where nearly 1.28 Billion people live, a country where the heart of culture and heritages lies, a country where all matters is love and religion, a country where politics takes a huger stake than governance, A country where many people have black money and all other lack money. India is like a huge food platter with some extremely tasteful delicacies and some still undercooked. It’s like a melody, a musical note,’sometimes right, sometimes wrong’. But before going further I would like to bring in notice that I am not writing this to tell about the history, geography or culture of India, One can Google it simply. What I want is to convey the QUIENTESSENTIAL facts that a NATIVE INDIAN needs to realize.

India is a gifted country. With lots of beautiful sceneries, colours, taste and cultural variations. Most of us are hardly aware about the culture and history of India. We feel it down-market to just go and have a dip at the Ganga Ghat, But we at the same time find throwing a coin in the wishing well or having a fish pedicure very cool. If you feel that having a dip in the holy water is myth or is a blind belief. Then well ok, just take a dip for the sake of dipping your toes in the rich cultural heritage of the country. But no, we won’t do it because we have WESTERNIZED! We have the freedom to follow what we wish to do... We are liberal! Or are we? Are we not going back in the laps of voluntary bondage again? Think about it, we go to Roam, They have a tag line there. “When you are in Rome, Do as Romans do”, and we Indians are quiet opposite, when we are in India we do as foreigners do. Ironical! It’s time to just be original, be aesthetic about India and its originality. I am nowhere against evolution, I am just in favour of being original. Western food that the youth savours allot (including me) is not a problem at all but finding the classical Indian cuisine class less is a matter of concern. It’s what people think today if a person goes to a high class restaurant with a bunch of friends he would never want to order a typical regional dish like litti-chokkha, daal-baatti but would proudly go for continental food Thai Curry, Italian Spaghettis etc. This is quiet disturbing; it’s a huge question on our identities, on our values on being INDIAN. Another tragic yet true fact about India is nobody bothers to see good in things, instead just pounces on the not so good shade of anything. It is upto some extend is acceptable by the uneducated sector of the country, but what about the desi angrez that drive off in their expensive cars and get bucks paid in thousands or lakhs a month. Why is India always looked up as a country where poverty is impeccable, where corruption is unmatched, ofcourse it is! But then why are we making it our USP? We never put non-presentable things in the showcases of our home,Or do we? Although they exists! But here we exaggerate those things which can grab us limelight no matter if it is poverty itself. The famous movie that also grabbed a spot in Oscar nominations was routed through this agenda to show the world the anguished pleasure in which we live in, Documentaries find the most depressing and bipolar realities of India. My point is not to keep you away from reality, it’s important but paralleled to the beautiful reality too, the reality that allows you to have pride in being a resident of your mother land, the reality that brings happiness.

Just a few days back I came across a documentary made by Americans on India, It was beautiful, they highlighted the right amount of the whites and greys of the country. The vibrant colours that exsists in our culture, the aromatic spices, those graceful classical dances and all that majestic architecture. Why can’t we see that? What is stopping us be appreciative? Why can’t we be gratified for what we got? Dear friends it’s high time now to introspect ourselves and awaken that long slept perception that sees India as exquisite.

Well India has a rich history but today things are not the same the values in people that were inscribed in their hearts ever since they were born have changed, people have changed, not the TRADITIONAL INDIA, not all Indians do the same, nor did the essence of India changed over the years. What changed are Morals and values among people so why are we degrading the value of India. Think about it had not the regard amongst the administrators for poor have been submerged, the problem of poverty might never arise. Had not some societies to keep them superior made some ideologies, some rules or just some societal believes, this discrimination, racism might never had started.

Despite of all this, ‘nobles’ still exists who work for the pride of the country, who understands their responsibility as the prodigy of the nation, Who has eternal respect for the country always and not just on Independence or Republic days. We all owe them heartfelt respect for being great. He may be anyone right from the shoe-maker to an army officer.

So, let’s just come together! Yes, we the youth! To make India as a brand , to show what India deserves and what Indians are worth for! Let’s be Indian, speak Indian, live Indian and love being called an Indian. But yeah! An original one of course. Let’s have self regard and self esteem so that no country in the world can make us feel inferior at any point, in any way. Come let’s do our parts for the ‘to be youngest nation in the world’, THE INDIA, Grammatically wrong but yet absolutely correct.
