It Hurts for a Reason

Some people beg to become numb to escape pain. Some wish they could be hollow and only feel the dull ache.No ache is bearable unless we think we can surpass it --It's in our losses, heart aches, rejections, the bruises in our body, or the sickness in our stomach. It's in every drop of tear, the crunch up face that shows the slightest crease of the forehead or the beaten body--.It's in every back that's turned: the people who betrayed us or the body that let us down. It all hurts.

Sometimes when its insurmountable, it kills the person inside. And so, some of us fear pain like we fear death, constant & inevitable.

But we forget that there is beauty in pain. That it exist for us to feel. To hurt. Because without it, we also couldn't feel love, happiness, sorrow, excitement, anxiety and every other feeling that's in our very being. It runs in our blood like a lifeline. We cling to feel because it lets us know thar we're living. That our heart beats for a reason.

It's true what they say these days that pain demands to be felt. We just need to remember that in every knife that guts out our heart, every punch in the face we take, every sting of tears, and every ache of our losses, there is beauty in it because it hurts for a reason.
