"It's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all."

He sat on his building terrace having his beer and writing his new composition. She then entered from the back without disturbing him. He turned back and asked her why she had come there. She stood numb for a minute and took out some invitation card from her bag. It was her marriage invitation.

A tear rolled down from both their eyes but the boy didn't show it. He asked her to sit and asked if she wanted anything to drink or eat. She denied and asked him to play his favorite composition for her.

He started playing it and suddenly stopped in between when she started enjoying it.

He asked her why she had come to meet him after all that had happened... To check if he was alive or dead? If he had moved on or was still waiting for her..

She stood up and walked to the corner of the terrace. She started sobbing and said that she feelt embarrassed but didn't know the reason for it.

He made her feel comfortable and told her they could talk about it..

She said “First love stays with us, it’s unforgettable. Your jokes made me laugh, I remember all the happy times together.. but then realized that I’m not the right match for you"

He asked her why she felt so. She said that he was not among those who feel happy with a monthly salary.

She said "You have big dreams. And that’s what I like the most... You asked me to wait for three years and I tried convincing dad. Everything was fine for a few days but everyone doesn’t have the patience. People started asking about my parents about my asked

He said “There can be compromises in life but life shouldn’t be compromising." She then turned her back around him and said others can't take life in the same way as we do.

He asked her again “Are you here to say all this to me?"

"No, I came here to be myself for the last time" she said.

"When I’m with you, I feel beautiful, intelligent, I am a lazy bug who sleeps for long hours, a foodie... In simple words I be the real me when I’m with you.

I don’t know how it will be post marriage, maybe I can't be what I am. May be these are the last minutes of my life when I can actually be myself. You are a special person in my life."
