KEEP YOUR MEMORIES ALIVE

Tears rolling down her cheeks, standing numb, she is staring at her mother who is lying motionless in front of her. Not able to accept the fact that her mother died in a car accident, she screams 'MOM' several times and tries to wake her up. Her father wiping his tears, holds her tight and says '' she will be always alive in our hearts''. As her mother is lifted and taken away for the funeral, she falls down unconscious.

When she opens her eyes, she finds herself in a bed surrounded by her relatives, some giving her a sympathetic look, some staring at her with wet eyes. And her dad sitting beside her, holding her hand lovingly. Looking at her father, she hugs him and whispers “dad, I want to be left alone for some time.” Her dad nods and asks everyone to leave her alone. As he is about to exit he says “take care dear, and call me whenever you feel like.”

Looking around the room, she gazes the study table, she sees herself sitting on the chair and doing her assignments. Her mother enters the room with a glass of milk, keeps it on the table and kisses her Goodnight. Then she finds her mom sitting next to her reading bedtime stories. She looks through the window of the balcony and hears the giggles they used to have while chatting. Suddenly her eyes catch her mother’s photo hanging on the wall and she screams “why?”

Suddenly, due to strong flow of wind the door of the balcony opened. To get some fresh air, she goes to the balcony and stands in one place feeling the cold wind on her face. She embraces her face as if her mother has touched her. Taking a deep breath and closing her eyes, she feels as if her mother is caressing the wind through her.

While she was engrossed with her feelings, someone knocked the door. As she opened, she saw her father standing with a dinner plate in his hand. “I don’t want to eat dad.” Before her father could speak anything, she closed the door and went to bed and falls asleep after some time.

She feels someone hugging her from behind, she turns around to discover that it is her mother. She couldn’t control her happiness and kisses her mother multiple times. She cried and blabbered “thank God you are back.” Her mother smiled at her and kissed her. “I love you so much darling, you are my life.” Said her mother and continued by saying “I will always be with you. Close your eyes and think about me whenever you need me. Remember one thing wherever I am, I can always see you, and so I want to see you happy and strong forever. I know it’s hard, you will miss me. You will miss my presence, but my soul will always be beside you.” She kisses her daughter again and before leaving advices to take care of her father as even he loves his daughter very much.

As she opens her eyes, she realizes that it was a dream. She looks to the sky through the window and whispers “Mom, I love you so much.” Then walking to her father’s room, she finds him sobbing and smoking cigarette. She stands close to him and says “I will never leave your side daddy.” Putting his cigar down he hugs his daughter and says me too!
