MISS GOAT

It was a rainy night, with thunderstorms hitting hard, and trees falling due to heavy wind. An adventurous man named Max, who loved to travel alone was rushing back to his home due to the bad weather. Suddenly he heard a goat bleating, he stopped his car to look around. A baby goat was crying for help as one of her legs got stuck under a branch of a tree. As soon as Max caught sight of the goat he took a minute to admire the baby goat which had brown coloured skin with white furs. He without wasting any more seconds, ran towards the goat to help her. He lifted the branch of the tree and took out her injured leg, it had bruises. As he was going back to his car, he looked behind and saw the goat still standing there, drenched in water. “Maybe she is unable to walk, because of her injury, but where do I take her?” Thought Max. He kept going towards his car, stopped for a second and ran back to the goat. He wrapped her in his coat and lifted her inside the car.

The goat was bewildered and kept gazing outside the car, sometimes shifting her gaze to the man who just rescued her. Max took her to a vet who nursed her leg and dried her. The vet informed she has badly injured her leg and she may have immense pain till the medicine starts working. Though Max just met the goat about an hour ago, some sort of sad vibe gushed on him. He decided to take care of the goat until her bruises were recovered.

After half an hour they reached home, Max made her sit at a corner and went to freshen up. When he came back he saw the goat wandering in the hall with her limped leg. When the goat saw Max, she came to him wagging her tail and looking straight in his eyes. As he sat down, caressing her fur, he realized that she must be hungry. He quickly went to the kitchen and brought a carrot, which she voraciously ate as if she was hungry forever before. Max gave her water in a bowl which he kept at the corner which involuntarily became her corner.

The next day when he opened his eyes, he saw the goat in his room, right beside his bed, staring straight at him. He got up from the bed and moved his hand on her head. In response, she kept wagging her tail. For the next two days, he took good care of her by feeding her timely, keeping water for her, bathing her once and petting her time and again.

After two days he took her to an animal care centre so that she can be in a safe place than before. But when he left her, he realized tears rolling from his eyes and could hear slow cries of the goat behind. “When did I become so attached to her?” He thought. It took no time for him to change his mind. He went back and held her hoof forever. She wagged her tail restlessly and jumped here and there to see her saviour back.

He took her back home and named her bubble because she was the Bubble of unconditional love and happiness that he never had in his life before. Max build a small house with beautiful curtains and cushions for bubble where she could rest and take a nap. But she preferred sleeping in Max’s room besides his bed instead. He took his pretty Bubble to all his adventurous trips, and they explored places together.

Bubble was part of every important moment in Max’s life be it his marriage, or the birth of his kids. Bubble lived for 16 Years and died happily in the arms of the one she loved the most. Max had never experienced the pain of this intensity before. He cried for hours on the day bubble left forever. He frequently talked about her to his kids, and always kept Bubble alive in his memories. Few years later he built a shelter home for goats in loving memory of his beloved goat, Bubble.
