Knocks

An old woman knocked at my car window, one mid-afternoon while the red light is on at Roxas Boulevard in Manila.

I was irritated but I rolled down my window, anyway.

"Please give me money for food," she whispered.

I perused my purse for coins but I haven't seen any so I decided to give her a 50 peso bill.

The moment I give it to her, she smiled widely and warmly, I can feel it.

Just then, the red light switched to green and I hit the pedal.

I rolled my window up, too but instead of an old woman, I saw a beautiful goddess-like stranger standing near my car.

"Thank you. You're so kind.You will be blessed tremendously because of this."

And she vanished.

I was momentarily fazed by what I saw.

I then whispered to myself, "It's not human. She's not human. She's an angel."
