Last day...

Tears roll down my eyes and for some reason i can do nothing to stop them. Memories of the past flashed in front of my eyes and the portrait in front of me reminded me of my mom.

Years back , i woke up in the morning and walked into her room where she lay on her back looking at our photographs. she had a warm smile on her face always and she spread her hands asking for a hug when she saw me and i sprung upon her to give her a bear hug and kiss her. For a 6 year old like me the warmth of her hands and her love is everything in life. She just asked me to go and get an ice cream for myself from the kitchen. In that 10 minutes of my life where i enjoyed my ice cream my mom breathed her last. The house was empty so was my life. "Mamma.. !" i used to scream out in the darkness and waited for a cheerful "Ha Beta..". But no one replied back. Everyone in the house stopped me from going to her. All i wanted to do is, go to "mumma" and chat with her. After that day i never got to see my mom again. I spent many years wondering where my mom is and why is she not with me when i was lonely at night, when i fell ill and all i craved was for her love. Seeing others tell stories about their mom i missed my beautiful doll. I was devastated when I Learned that she would never come back.

Today, I understand the pain in her eyes and fear of losing me. Despite of knowing what the future has in store for she smiled, her smile reaching her eyes. She was a brave woman. Had there been any possibility to reverse time I would give away all that i have to relive the time spent with my her. Sadly it is just a wish which can never be true. All I can do is treasuring all her memories and moving on in life.
