Once upon a time, when people believed in love, there was a girl whose name was Leila. She was born at night and while she was growing up, she developed a deep passion for the night sky. When she turned twenty-two, she found her truly love. He was a sailor who used to sail the galaxies looking for treasures. And he actually found one, Leila. She was his biggest and more precious pearl. Leila fell in love with him and left everything behind. Nothing else mattered. But later on, the starry sky she believed she was under was covered by stormy clouds and her truly love was murdered under the light of the sun in one voyage he had gone to.
Every afternoon she sat on the golden sand of the beach looking how the sun was swallowed by the sea. And every night she gazed at the stars pretending to hug the universe and by doing so, hanging on her lover. The days went by and Leila found a power inside of her. A mystical power that was last seen when the man met the fire. There was a light inside of her. If you could see her, you will see that light inside of her hazel eyes. It lighted the Earth and even the light of the moon seemed to be insignificant next to hers. But she couldn´t see it. The night was her everything. The universe was her lover. Every night he held her in his arms. The cool sea breeze kissed her on her cheeks. It was him, obviously. Leila used to swim in the dark blue sea and search for shells on the bottom of the ocean in case she would find him diving looking for gems. She wasn´t crazy, maybe she felt lonely. She was hopeful. Or insane? Is it bad to give everything to love? To risk a comfortable life? To hope for the night and not for the day? One night she saw her lover on the horizon, his face was drawn by the stars, he was a constellation. And he guided her through the ocean and then through the dark stormy clouds and later on through the bright stars and through the planets and all behind that. And for the first time in her life, Leila found what was meant to be her biggest treasure. It wasn´t her lover nor a diamond nor a gem or a pearl. She found herself. The shiniest thing in the whole universe, and sometimes you have to take distance to appreciate everything better.
