Letters to my Romeo: #3

Dear Romeo,

I don't actually believe in happy ever afters.  Maybe because I was a hopeless romantic, or maybe just because of the stories I've read, but the thought of you with me seems surreal. You clashed the walls I've built for my self and came without permission. I wasn't prepared. Yet, you hushed my thoughts with assurance that you will be there.

I didn't know exactly when it happen, but the moment I snapped back to reality, I have come to adore you more; and as I come to trace myself back, you're still there. Without any uttered words, you told me how you feel --- you told me you love me. The feeling felt so strange to me as heat came rushing to my cheeks, but the words I've been hoping to say came out as mere whispers. I'm afraid to tell you that I love you. I have seen so many tragic scenes of sorrowful love, and maybe, I was afraid to fall in love all along. In my mind, I hope you saw these 3 magical words trying to break free as I stare deeply into your eyes.

But then you smiled. You smiled like you knew what I'm trying to say. You smiled like all the words I've kept in me spelled out to you so clearly. And as if you knew, you grabbed my hand for the first time and entwined it with yours, pressing a little lightly. Do you even know how these simple gestures made me feel?

I knew then that this is the start of something new... Something magical. One that I never thought would come, yet still, came.

With you, I believed that not all kinds of love are sorrowful.

Well, not at least ours.
