Letting him go

Why does it hurt to let someone go who have never been yours?

Maybe because, you felt all the pain you’ve been keeping for years. 

Because you can’t blame no one other than yourself for falling with someone whom at the first place was already impossible for you to be with. 

But it’s your fault.. you still tried.. you took courage to get near him, courage to get to know him. 

You were courageous when you actually met. It was that first time that you felt the butterflies on your stomach. 

You remember everything from the start, you remember it, all too well. You were an investor, you get to invest your feelings, you willingly surrendered your heart in the lottery. 

It was that three in the morning talk that you probably love the most. 

You roll on your bed, you squeeze a scream, you cannot contain the happiness and you started hoping. 

You were on clouds, do you remember the way you smile? It was so shiny, it was pretty. 

You were so happy you didn’t get to prepare yourself as the worst was yet to come.

You were so brave to get to know him, you were so brave to fall for him.. 

Where does your courage took you now? 

Five years. You’ve taken all the risks for five whole years, and all those years you’ve been brave.. your heart has been so brave to take all the pain, because from the very start that you let yourself fall, you know by yourself that his heart will never be yours.. but still you were courageous.. 

Understand why.. just understand why it hurts letting him go. 

It was because you were courageous following your heart’s desire for five long years. 

That’s the reason why it hurts to finally let him go.
