There are times in life
we remain mum
when beliefs are questioned
fading away like maples in autumn
Aren’t we all just liars?
feeling so deeply
yet showing so little
wanting to be loved
but not giving chances
pretending to be happy
while bleeding inside
craving for attention
yet whispering no big deal
pretending upright
being unsure of all
nodding with a smile
while screaming internally
staging pride in self
yet constantly wanting to be someone else
pretending not to care
yet secretly hoping to get caught loving
purely spoiled
perfectly damaged
hoping there comes a day
when we don’t have to lie anymore
. . .
