I feel lost
Like a sheep without its herd.
So I venture into the world
Looking for a place where I belong.
I went to the river;
Where others smile with their golden skin.
They bask under the hot sun
Never getting enough of the tan.
I went to the forest;
Where others laugh with their bellies full.
They fight their way up the trees for fruit
Never getting enough of the food.
I went to the mountains;
Where others smirk with heads held high
They climb up the mountain to stand taller
Never stopping until they reach the top.
Feeling tired, I jumped down the mountain.
Hitting the ground, I look around.
The sun is warm on my skin,
The clouds float slowly in the blue sky.
I am in a field;
A field they call "denouement".
Some swam into the deepest river
Some hung by the tallest tree
Others jumped down the highest mountain.
There's no competition for whose skin is tanner
There's no competition for whose stomach is fuller
There's no competition for whose head is held higher.
I never thought I'd ever feel this
But I think I am not lost anymore,
Maybe I am found.
