You definitely didn't fit my definition of "ideal," my friend. You are quiet. You snap when you find something silly. You are "blunt" with your words and sharp with your tongue. That hurts! You are arrogantly shrewd. You just don't respond at times, not even with a shrug perhaps because you don't care. Rude!
But I love your arrogance. Had we met earlier, I would have despised you. I would have severed all communication channels with you. Perhaps because I was living in a wonderland where everything was sugar and cream.
Cut to today, I find your demeanor unusually attractive, my friend. I have loved the perfect. But there is something unreal about perfection, and something innately human about imperfection. I choose the latter, now that I know what love is all about. Seeking the perfect is infatuation; accepting the imperfect is love in its glory. Love is all-encompassing. Unless you embrace the undesirable along with the desirable, you cannot claim to have loved someone. Look at me, my friend. I have fallen in love with all the things in you that I despised in people earlier.
Now I know what loving myself is all about as well. It's about embracing yourself wholly, including your supposed weaknesses. All the while I have been loving you, I have been learning to love myself.
Silence is arcane, and you come across as a mystery to me that is worth solving.
