missing: pieces of promises

Info

"Cross my heart and hope to die, I promise you I'll never leave your side".

You hear them say it all over again but it seems like just another pleasant melody to you. Memories rushing in as the cool breeze of December is sweeping you off your feet. Memories where all you could feel is the sea of sound you've been floating around. Sounds that you've always wanted to believe in. In fact, you always believe into something unintelligible, something surreal yet something comforting through your ears. The water's rough but you've always wanted to dive into the vast ocean of people tempting you to just take a dip of something unimaginable. Would you risk it all?

Here's a thing: "Promises are meant to be broken." It is always less than a choice and more than a mistake. It is just another set of jargons of the 21st century. And for the most part, you always feel scared and terrified, it became a haunting tune that was once of a soothing lullaby in every night's sleep. Is it even all right to you? You always saw it coming but you're not trying to just make a move, either. Once Confucius has said, "...a man kept holding on his words, fearing the disgrace that would ensue should he himself fail to keep pace with them." It is simply conveying the importance of honesty and trust, and a promise of the truth. Truth to one's own feelings is all-important in life. Unless you'd like to be that person without pinky fingers since they're extremely fond of breaking promises and such. Thus, be that person who always strives to keep her actions in congruence with her words. You should not expend words when you're incapable of following it up with action. You are not worthy of lies in a candy coating. Be that bittersweet kind of something real and imaginable.

In this life, you can't expect someone to just say the truth. But you can at least expect from yourself to be the start against this never-ending pendulum. Breaking a mirror isn't worth the risk, yet worth of reflections. Reflections, where you could pick up the pieces and realizing the person in front of you, is the living proof of the truth. One last thing: Do me a favor and kindly disperse yourself out of the water. Don't forget that you're still breathing and you belong in here, not in someone else's lie.

"I can't promise you that, but I can promise that everything will change even if you don't try", you finally answered.
