Mistakes

I wanted to forget the mistakes I've done and forgive myself for hurting and leaving the people I once loved and cared for.
But the sight of them brings back the sad memories of regret for the things I should've done.
Their cold stare brings back the pain that's been hiding somewhere in my heart.
Their presence makes me remember of how I was in the past.
Their voices reminds me of all the mistakes I badly want to forget.
Thinking, I should've made them understand me and let them know of how I really wanted to reach out.
But I couldn't because of the fear of being rejected and being left out once again.
The trauma of the pain I've felt in the past prevents me from opening up to other people again.
