"-We're after The same Rainbow's end,
Waiting 'round the bend,
My huckleberry friend.
Moon River and me"
I looked at my mum ,as the song ends, who watched Audrey Hepburn sing her favourite song of hers, and looked back at the screen. I was clearly mesmerized at her tone of Voice, it has almost took me to sleep for it was so past my bedtime. Her tone was soft and gentle as she sang "Moon River" in "Breakfast at Tiffany's". Some people wouldn't advise children like me to watch it but I see nothing wrong with it if Mother knows how to keep secrets. But I find the movie hilarious. Mummy looked at me, with tears in her eyes, and said softly "When I turn 50, would you sing that for me?" I shrugged and said cheekishly "Maybe? I don't sing Mum" She smiled softly and laughed. I Don't know why, I didn't say anything remotely funny, but she kissed my forehead and hugged me tightly. Soon, we heard a thunder roar and I hugged her tight as ever. The TV was still on so we continued watching the movie. After that, we watched a musical called "Singing In The Rain", It had a catchy beat and I myself found out that I was humming to it all night long. I soon got sleepy and felt Mum's strong arms around me and carried me towards my room where both my siblings slept and kissed us goodnight. I looked at our clock and started humming "Moon River" as I slowly fell asleep, smiling.
Now, I'm standing in front of a group of people in a stage as I sang on my mother's Birthday. Guess my young brain did not think That I will be the singer in our family and would be standing here singing the promised song I gave to mum. I saw tears forming in her eyes as she started to sing along as well. I opened my mouth and started my song "Moon River, Wider than a mile..."
PLEASE GO WATCH THOSE TWO MOVIES AND THEIR SONGS. YES, I LOVE MUSICALS. NO, NOT YET A THEATER KID
