More Than Just Human~ Prolouge

I was walking down the streets in Colorado.

It was a peaceful afternoon alone.

Hello, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is, Serena Charlotte Hills. I was raised by my single mom, Sandra Hills.

My mom and I move from country to country. I tried asking her why, and she only told me that she wants to live out her life. Just me and her. 

I knew it was more than that but I stopped asking her.

We've been in Colorado for 7 months now. That's longer than usual. 

My phone buzzes in my pocket.

Mommy

It says.

"Hello?" I say.

I hear a lot of noise in the background.

"Rena? Where are you?" my mom asks, her voice shaking.

"I'm a few blocks away. Is everything okay mom? Did something happen?"I ask her.

My stomach flips.

"Come home, quickly. They're coming," she cries into the call.

"Who's coming?" I ask worriedly.

"They're coming," my mom kept muttering over and over again.

Then the line went blank.
