More than just walls

I dream about you so often,
I'm sorry I left,i was out of option,
You stayed still,grounded and greyed,
I wonder how you'r doing,are you afraid?

I hope the new dwellers are treating you right,
Like my family did, do they ever fight?
You've been keeping secrets since the ninety's,
Ain't no one like you, none of them Aunties..

Have they coloured you, like I used to do?
Are the birds still there ,are they hiding too?
Hear them both sing, when you feel blue,
Remember how i used to hide inside of you?

Our special place that no one knew,
Haunts me still, does it haunt you too?
My name's etched on your wall, over there,
You are sketched on my book, but over here..

It's that time of the year again,
When the lamps are lighted in every lane,
I'll light them up as well, in my new place,
But I miss glossing you up like my doll's face,
You're meant to be treated like how other's can't handle,
I pray someone at least lights you a candle..
