Motorcycles and Freedom #1


They went for a motorcycle ride.

There were a number of things she thought she could have done that night, none of which was this. she never thought that after all this time, all this tension, they would be laughing so hard, so loudly in the middle of the street as they sped down the road. she could feel it, the gaze at the back of her neck as she took control. She wanted this freedom, she wanted this feeling like she was about three seconds away from flying. Every time she was told to slow down, she sped up, she has been slowing down her whole life, calculating, wondering, fearing everything and every one.

She didn’t fear him.

The machine hummed beneath her, purred, understanding her will to unleash. it was exhilarating, liberating, wrong, and she sensed the concern of the man behind her, wondering why speed seemed to be the order of the day. It has been too long since he discovered anything new about someone. He could understand most people from one sitting, one conversation and he would be able to give a full detailed report about their personality. This, however, he did not understand. She felt him tense behind her for a minute or so as she tested her limits. He was trying to understand, then, suddenly, he gave up and relaxed, letting her truly take control.
