The Savitri Temple is located on Ratnagiri Hill, on the outskirts of Pushkar, and offers amazing views of the city and the surrounding valleys. From the lake, you can walk to the top in half an hour and when you are in a lazy mood you can also take the cable car - no reason not to visit this place!

The sanctuary is dedicated to the goddess Savitri, the wife of Lord Brahma. It was built in 1687 and the temple contains two seventh-century statues, one by Savitri and one by Lord Brahma's second wife, Gayatri. According to tradition, the Hindus must first worship Savitri and only afterward may they pray to Gayatri.
The temple itself does not represent much, but the view, on the other hand, is phenomenal - especially during sunrise and sunset. Because many people want to admire the sunset from the temple, it can be fairly busy around that time, although that doesn't matter much to the view. We decided to watch the sunrise from the temple and only had to share the place with three others. If you want a better travel experience then book a cab from a taxi service in Udaipur.
It's a fifteen-minute walk to the start of the stairs and then it takes another fifteen minutes - or a little longer if you need a few breaks - before you reach the top. It is really a big climb, so if you have physical complaints it might not be such a good idea to go up the stairs and you better take the cable car up, which costs 70 rupees per person (2019). When you feel like a short workout and are not afraid of a little sweat you can take the stairs.
The temple is open every day from 5 a.m. to 12 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Entrance is free.
