My other half went for a walk...

“Once a wanderer, always a wanderer. He’s searching for something, always believing that there’s adventure around every corner. I, on the other hand, am his exact opposite. I am always stuck.

I gave him half of my soul. We enjoyed the little chapter we wrote together. I was happy for what we accomplished together and I began to think that he might actually settle down and give up searching for his adventure.

But one day, I found him staring out in the horizon with infinite longing in his eyes.

He turned around to see my worried face, and he understood why.

“I’ll be back.”

He whispered gently while firmly holding my gaze.

Afraid to reveal my emotions, I turned my face away and stared at the ground, while he started packing his things as he prepares himself to move on.

All can remember is his back fading in the blinding light. All I can think of is his promise that he’ll be back. So I wait patiently for his return.

Time went by, seasons changed and I’m still waiting for him to come back. I knew in my heart he wont. He’s a wanderer for crying out loud!

Few years went by and I came across this familiar stranger. I saw his deep brown eyes and I knew it was him.

He finally learned to settle down.

He moved on to a different chapter, while I’m still stuck in the same place where he left me, patiently waiting and hoping he’d come back even when I know he wont, wishing he never had to wander off to that new chapter he’s in. Because it breaks me to see how much he loves it more than he loved ours.
