Nightmares that exist here and there.

Real life has this weird ability to make things look more surreal than they really are. Her smiles, her voice, her lips. They exist, but they're not here.

Let me tell you one nightmare you'll keep waking up to, the idea that she's no longer there.

Her smell still lingers the room, her warmth still on your bed. Forgiveness does not ask, it demands; it demands a partial blood sacrifice, a part of your soul, because after forgiveness comes bargaining, and when you bargain you're never complete ever again.

Nightmares exist and they find way to enter your mind in ways you could never understand. Nightmares know you better than your dreams, they know you better than your friends or family. They know how to gradually consume you without you knowing about it. Worse of it all, they know how to exist and become a part of you.

The way you walk, they way you talk, they're not you. Look at the mirror, how many times did you want to punch that reflection staring back at you?

But that's you. You are a prisoner of this world. The reflection is you, the one outside, living your life is someone else is being you.

Your dreams, your reality, your loved ones, they're all controlled by someone else. Someone primordial and menacing. Someone malicious and overarching.

The urge of being free and never going to be free. You will die as you live, forgotten and never forgiven.

There will always be nightmares that exist here and there.

Nightmares that exist even though you're wide awake.

Be ready.

Author's note: Haven't been around for a while, that's because I've been writing my next short stories. I think this one sets up one of my stories well. If you're a fan of Lovecraftian horror then I do suggest you to give my next story a read.

I do have other stories in store, one of them is my tackle on superhero stories (and what it means to be human) and another one is quite similar to my Seven Days story.

They're all pretty long, but that's really up to you. After I publish those then I will be back to the normal schedule of things. Cheers!
