No Is Not An Option

I was not a girl for dancing,

pretty much not for partying.

But I got drunk and bold,

it was your hand that I cling to and hold.

I drag you at the center of the floor,

dared you to dance and proved that for once I am not a bore.

You shook your head and said you were shy,

I laughed and said, so was I.

You pulled me back to where our friends were,

I refused, not wanting to sit on a chair.

I urged some more and looked you in the eye,

You shook your head and I heard you sigh.

You knew, that no is not an option,

so you humored me, knowing that it was the only solution.

You swayed, and glide to the music opposite me,

the smile you tried to hide made me giddy.

I bit my lip to stifle a giggle,

you saw what I did, it made you chuckle.

Two less awkward people together,

dancing in the middle of the floor,

grinning silly at each other,

both know that memory will last forever.
