NOT READY, FOR THE CORONATION

Info

The hand woven sea-silk sweeping gown,

Endowed in the deepest shade of aquamarine,

Adorned with lace made out of the finest gracilaria,

And bestowed with the exquisite shells from the galleria,

Lay fluttering on the dress-form, beautiful as none,

Paired with the bracelet of ammolite and abalone.

The exquisite patterns of akoya-pearl and precious coral,

Imparted a charm to the ring, ear-rings and the necklace,

Yet the most exquisite jewel that shone with incredible aura,

Was the vibrant amethyst embedded in the crest of her tiara,

The other trinkets and gems that were her kingdom’s grace,

Were encased in the jewel case cast from mother of pearl.

Her new kingdom was engrossed in the spirit of celebration,

To welcome the new bride, also to be crowned the princess,

While her prince assured her not to worry and to remain poised,

She sat engulfed in solicitude picturing herself stumble, eyes closed,

No denying that, to the open ocean she was once the mistress,

And that she had ventured for the tail to toes transformation.

Yet she could not be persuaded that she was ready, for the coronation…
