Note To Self

Info

You need to do this for yourself.

I can’t promise you that it won’t hurt; that memories won’t haunt you at night and keep you up, I can’t promise you that there won’t be nightmares that will make you wake up crying, and I can’t promise you that you won’t feel alone or lonely because the warmth that once felt like home isn’t there anymore. We were never really given a warning that these things will happen, or perhaps there were signs but we choose to ignore them until it’s right in front of our faces and the blow of it hits you.

But here’s one thing I’ve learned about pain; it proves that you are capable of healing. Pain is there to remind us that we are living, that our heart is fragile; it should not be handled by someone who doesn’t realize how enough you are because trust me, you’re more than enough. It’s proof, that you can heal and start again.

It’s okay not to be okay. Your feelings are valid; you can accept that there are things you are not okay with, you’re allowed to scream, cry, tell the whole world about your heart and how it has been so tired and weak. At the end of it all, the only responsibility you have is to yourself. Make yourself a priority. Give yourself time to heal, time is at your expense to use; grow in ways you never thought possible.

If you feel lost, alone or lonely, the only person that you need is yourself. You are given a miracle; a new life to explore. It’s scary and uncertain but that’s the beauty of the future, it’s all potential. Every day is a chance to take risks and to believe in the things unseen.

Do yourself a favor, find yourself by yourself. Try to love yourself as much as you want somebody else to because how will you know how to love somebody else truly, if you don’t know how to love your own self?

Keep in mind, choose the people who choose you. Stay away from people who make you feel that you are hard to love; but even if you are, they should prove to you that you are worth it. If there’s one thing inevitable about life is that the people who are truly meant to be in your life will always find a way to come back no matter how many times they get lost. Don’t worry because the right people will come to you and stay in your life then you will know why it didn’t work out with anybody else, but until that happens, work on yourself.

There are times in your life that you need to be alone; to see how strong you are. It will happen in the most unexpected times because that is where you will be most vulnerable and push yourself to be a person who can stand on their own two feet again. Be strong, mature, and independent. Be the person your future self will be proud of.

Right now, everything seems so unsure and unfamiliar but this is the start of a new chapter in your life, another blank canvas to write your memories and paint breathtaking moments. If you get the chance, pray for guidance, strength and offer thanksgiving for your blessings; prayers can move mountains. Trust yourself and be patient for the best things happen unexpectedly. You’ll be surprised in everything that you can possibly do to be the best version of yourself.

It will all make sense, so don’t you dare give up.
