Notes to mom - final

This is supposed to be the final note, but can there ever be a final note, will there ever be enough words to express your gratitude towards your mother,  or will there be enough ways to show her how much she means to you. This can never be the end of something as pure as mothers love. But nevertheless here are ten reasons why you are the best mom I could ever wish for

1. All the sleepless nights you spent while I was down with fever, all the meals you skipped for my sake, all the snide remarks heard on my behalf. And all the unnoticed sacrifices that you made while raising me.

2. "Do this because they did it, study more because she scored more than you, get back home before 6 because that's what girls are supposed to do", thanks to you, unlike some others, these where not the words that I heard while growing. Instead all you said was "Do what you love, learn what you can, be kind to others and get home safe". I always did and I always will.

3. Being a single mother you took up the responsibility of a mother and father on yourself, working without a pause to raise me so that I would have a better future. Rejecting your chance at a better life for my sake. We were taught Mothers are embodiment of sacrifices perhaps it was you who they were referring to.

4. Sending me off to chase my dreams even though it was beyond either of us was purely your willpower and the trust you placed on me. Even when you were surrounded by discouraging words you didn't let that shake you. I owe all my success to your unshakeable faith in me.

5. You were the ray of hope which let me live through the darkest night of my life. The only reason I held on when everything was slipping apart was because I wanted to give you a better life. Whenever I feel discouraged the only thing that cross my mind is "if my mom could hold on, if she could make it through, so can I".

6. Even when friends betrayed me, judged me and condemned me, you held my hand. You forgave me and became my best friend. You taught me an important lesson that no matter how much good you do to others they'll only notice the one thing you did wrong. You made me realize that I didn't have to look for anyone else's approval.

7. You taught me to do what's right no matter how disapproving it might sound to others. You raised me to be ME even if that meant standing out in a crowd. You taught me to forgive and forget, to be strong yet compassionate, if I have anything that's good in me, all of it came from you.

8. You taught me a greater lesson that not everyone you meet in life is permanent, and when people leave instead of crying over what was lost your lessons made me appreciate what I had. It doesn't matter if you don't have millions of friends, what matter is the two who will stand by you through thick and thin and I have them with me.

9.  You always tell me that once i graduate and get a job I can go settle down where ever I want, all you asked me was to visit you occasionally and check up on you. I just want you to know that where ever I go, whatever lifestyle I choose you'll always be my home. I can never imagine a life away from, home isn't always a place, it can be a person too, where ever you are is my home.

10. Finding true love is difficult and not everyone gets their happy ending, sometimes it can be a painful experience. What is even more painful is loving someone whom you can never have, and all these sacrifices that you made for your family, yet forgotten by all, I don't know how you lived with such sorrow all these years yet managed to smile through the pain. You are truly a very rare person.

You are all smiles and only kindness, even the smallest things like a chocolate is enough to make you happy. You are the kind of mother who suddenly hates the pie so I could have a piece of it. You are the kind of mother who punishes me for my mistakes but starts crying when you see me hurt. You are the kind of mother who would do anything it takes to see me smile. You are the kind of mother every mother aspires to be yet fails. You are truly a blessing, MY BLESSING.
