The best advice my Mom gave to me was one time when we were out at the store shopping I had to be around 6 years old because I still fitted in the front seat of the shopping cart. Anyways, there was a little boyl having a fit because he wanted candy and his mother refused to buy it for him because of the way he was acting. He started yelling from the top of his lungs,"I want candy" as he continued yelling even louder he started kicking his feet back and forth hitting the cart he was in. Where I come from if I ever acted like that especially in public I would of gotten a free ride to the nearest belt rack inside the store and pick a belt of my choosing. Confused because the boy's Mom kept on Saying just wait when we get home you're on time out. By now Momma's irritated she looks at me and I asked her,
"Momma what is time out? I don't understand why that boy didn't get in trouble for acting like a brat?" My Mom was beyond irritation by now but she managed to calm down enough to answer my question. That boy was still being loud and misbehaving. Momma took a deep breathe and looked at me then turned and gave that boy a look that was very familiar in our house. It was an expression without words and if you didn't get it best believe she was gonna make sure you understood it . She leaned towards me and said,"Time-out for him (pointing her finger at the boy) would of been a visit to the nearest belt rack in this store. Time-out for you acting like that would be the time it takes for me to take off my shoe and crack you with it. Are you still confused? Do you understand what Time-out means now? 🤣😂🤣😂
