On the spur of the moment

I didn't know what came into my senses
But I felt the urge to tell you how I feel.

The sudden burst of courage that rushed in me
Followed by an intense feeling of nervousness
After I told you that I like you.

Silence,
There was a moment of total silence.

My whole body freezes as I wait for your response
This feeling of uneasiness and excitement
Coursing through my veins
And seeping through my skin

My mind kept thinking
"Was this a right thing to do?"
"Is this the right moment?"
"What do I do now?"

"What if she doesn't like me the way I like her?"

And then it hits me
The thought of me being rejected
Discouraged and anxious
"What now?"

Then she replied,
"Thank you, but..."
At that moment I felt sad,
I know what she's going to say next.
"...I'm not yet ready to open my heart again."

Darkness almost filled the room,
But then she continues
"But when my heart is okay again,
I'm willing to try."

A small spark emits infront of me
That filled the room with light.
There's a hope for me
Even if it's just a tiny bit.

There's still a hope,
And I'll be carrying that hope
Waiting for that moment,
For your heart to be okay again.
