One To Ten

Info

Close your eyes and count one to ten

Slowly, everything will be forgotten.

One

Two

Three

Four

Five

Six

Seven

Eight

Nine

A message popped up and it was him.

Again, she didn't reached the count of ten.

It was tiring for everytime she does the chant,

It always gets interrupted.

So she stopped— and expected the worst to happen.

Ten

Nine

Eight—He left, leaving all those promises behind

He left without any words  or any goodbyes.

Seven

Six

Five—He came back knowing she is there, waiting.

She waited for days, months and even years.

Four

Three

Two—Another chance was yet again wasted.

The same event happened all over again and again

Until it was the last count...

One.

She's tired, she's done, she had enough.

Too many heartaches,

Too many broken promises,

Too many betrayals that she experienced

Too many expectations that didn't meet

Too many reasons...to die

Close your eyes and count one to ten

Slowly, everything will be forgotten.

One

Two

Three, she can no longer feel anything.

His presence didn't made any difference

Four

Five, she no longer cares.

She's alive yet emptiness embraced her whole.

Six

Seven, there's no need to count one to ten

Numbness—is what perfectly describes her, forgetting what happened became pointless.

Eight

Nine, please stop. She doesn't want to continue anymore.

She had lost her will to live—don't come near her...

One more chance and she will break—so please, don't say the last count;

Ten...

She was not able to fight back,

She couldn't handle the pain

She's just too tired of everything

And so she took that blade—

Closing her eyes, she cut her wrist.

One, two, three,

Her wrist was oozing with blood—

It was painful yet satisfying.

Four, five, six

She cut deeper and deeper

As more blood is flowing.

Seven, eight, nine

She became so white and pale

Catching her breath—she dropped the blade.

Ten...

Oh, finally!

Poor girl, she couldn't contain her pain.

And so, her body falls on the floor—weak and lifeless.
