Our world is filled with young boys and girls, grown men and women, each one filled with stories to tell.
Stories of their silence in response to their petrifying exploitation.
Children touched and scared, and asked to remain silent. Taught that they are abused out of love. Forced to believe that they enjoy it. That they want more. Their mouths covered. Forever.
Adults mistreated in exchange for greater goods, and superficial love. Sacrificing their body and soul as an obligation to their role. Silent. Out of habit.
We all have such stories. All of you, and me too. Stories that have broken us a little. Stories that have scarred our bodies and shattered our souls. Stories that we keep deep within. You and me, carrying around the baggage of those unshared tales.
You and me, broken, together, creating a world. A world that is broken. And we are the ones who broke it. Our silence broke it. And as we continue to remain silent, our world breaks a little bit more.
A fictional piece narrating the happenings and after effects of sexual abuse on a victim.
