What started out as a simple atrraction
Turned out to be something else
What I started denying in front of my friends
Turned out to be my waiting distraction.
Maybe, I am not for you
Or maybe, it's the other way around-
You are not for me
And that truth cuts so deep
About as deep as a lone reed.
I promise, I'll stop right here
I'll end whatever I have for you
So I won't take an ice cold beer
For this heartbreak made me subdue.
I'll succumbed to the darkness
Inside the remnants of a fallen fortress
Of what was once a place to harness
This love I have hidden with such demureness.
I promise to keep everything about you to myself
Our story will be kept in a hidden book shelf
But please, as a consolation, do me some favour
Can you stop flirting with that expressive eyes of yours?
