She run in full speed as if death is chasing her. She fell and stumbled in the ground many times, but it did not slow her down or stop her from running. She's almost out of breath, but she can't stop now, can she?
No. Please. Not now. She plea.
Then, suddenly the bright sky turns grey and small drops of water started to shower her. Buildings, restaurants and other establishments are now turning their ligths on. It seems that the woman forecasting the weather today got it wrong. It feels like a pretty bad storm is coming.
Lightning came together with thunder. Then, lights out. And she suddenly stop. Oblivious of the fact that she's about to die seconds ago if the man behind the wheel hit the break few minutes late.
"If you're planning to kill yourself don't fucking use people!" Said by the angry driver pointing his finger at her.
At a distance you can see the fear in her eyes. Not because she's afraid with the driver. She realize something.
Her body was shaking, but she continue to run, faster this time. She put all the energy left in her body and run fast.
And then she recieves the call.
"The nurses said that the generator is broken. She -"
Her tears are invicible under the rain, but you can't miss the pain in her eyes.
Her hand started to shake that her phone slip out of her grip and made a trip to the concrete floor with its part scattered all over the ground. She stares at it, but that is not what she is seeing.
Memories.

"I only have you. Why don't you just stay? I can drive you everyday to school."
"You don't understand, mom. I'm not a baby anymore. And besides they're my friends."
***
"Aren't you coming home? It's Christmas."
"We have a party at the University. I'll try."
***
"Hel-"
"I'm busy, mom. I'll call you when I'm free. Bye!"
***
"Sorry the number you have dialed is unavailable. Please leave a message after the beep."
"Mom? Where are you? I have been calling for the past few days. Did something happen? Call me back, okey?"
****
"Hello? Who is this?"
"It's about your mom."
Your mom is on her way to your apartment to surprise you and so she can spend the christmas with you. She mentioned that it's almost a year and a half that she'd seen you. So, if you can't go home she will come to you. She called me the day before and she's beaming with excitement. She said she can't wait to see you. She brought groceries 'cause she said you like carbonara. But she met an accident on her way. The medical team who rescued her tried to contact the only phone number that she have in her phone, but you're unreachable. Good thing that a nurse whose my friend recognized your mom and call me. The only thing that keeps her alive now is a machine. And if that turns off she's as good as dead. Your mom misses you so much. She wanted to see you. Please come home.

"I'm sorry, mum. I'm so sorry." It's as if for the first time she felt so tired that even breathing is hard. Before everything went blank. She thought she heard her mum's voice.
"I love you, B!"
"Stop it, mum! I'm not a baby. Okey?!"
"Oww. That's not the right answer. It should be 'I love you too my oh so beautiful mother.
'."
"Whatever. I'm going."
"Can I have my 'I love you' now?"
"Bye, mom!"
"Where's my 'I love you'?"
Will I ever see those smile? Again?
Mom?
"I love you too my oh so beautiful mother."
