REOPENING MY BOX

Info

Today I will open my box again . I am 78 and cannot hold it any more. I've lived 58 regretful years but today I want to break my regret. Today I will meet my long lost love and rewrite the chapters of my life.........

The clock ticks nine
Today is the day
Finally, I've plucked up the courage
Under soothingly bright sunshine
To undust my box
To once again meet my old cravings
To once again live
The dreams I left behind.
Now I have wrinkles on my skin,
Stick in my hand,
Memories in my heart,
And the tears are filling in.
Today there is no one to stop
No one saying it won't work
No one saying that I'll fail
No one at all on my top.
Locking my aged hair behind my ear
I pick the drum stick and undust the drums
And ...after 58 regretful years
Re- meet my love devoid of any fear.
With my old arms open,
I welcome it back in my life.
Though, there're just  a few years left
I apologize to the dreams I had broken.
On this very same day
I had told my desires to go
Far , far away.
Now during the last chapters of my book
I am listening to my heart
Wouldn't have lived a life of regret
Had I never let my dreams part.........

Dreams are not mean to be seen
They , are meant to be lived......
