Running out of time

I was there. In front of his door, I've come from a long run. The air was cold and it splashed on my face and it blew my hair. Shaking, I stepped forward. Sighing, hesitating to knock. But the time we have is almost over. And so, I knocked. one, two, three. breathe. I stood facing his door, waiting. Until I heard footsteps. Slowly, the door opened, and I saw his face.

I stared at him, memorizing each curb of his face. The features he's having. And he spoke,

"What's wrong?"

and chills went down to my spine. His voice, darn, that voice.

I cannot speak. I cannot move from my position. All I want was to stay like this forever. Him and I, face to face, seeing that gray-green eyes of his, hearing my heart beats so fast. without time running out.

But the universe conspired to break us apart.

He spoke again,

"What's wrong? Answer me."

I replied,

"Everything's wrong." and tears burst from my eyes, like a thunderstorm. And I can feel my heartbeat so fast in pace.

And so I cannot force myself to hold back anymore,

I hugged him, like I'm never letting go. But the dawn is breaking and I have to go.

And so I spoke with my voice breaking,

"I'm leaving."
