The smile you see on my face,
Is just a remnant of love I can't erase.
All those late night texts and the emptiness,
Stitching all the words that your eyes expressed.
Sorry my darling, for I can't be happy
If I can't have you by my side.
I know love's meant to be serene,
But without you I never felt alive.
Rest your hand on my heart as you walk away,
Keep my soul warm enough to mourn.
Buried in a graveyard of my flesh, and casket made of my bones.
And my love will outlive both of us,
To bloom in wounds I've proudly displayed.
With each bud you'll grow beautiful,
While I will be left to decay.
Lying lifeless in my bed where I've made my peace,
For what's heaven without a hell beneath
For what's the point of moving on,
When I've loved you to point that it kills.
But I will let you go if you promise,
That nothing except you is left within me
I know love will heal the lesions of love,
But in every unspoken word I'm scared.
Will I forget every star I counted in your eyes?
Or your voice will linger long after my memory fades.
Will you keep me forever like a phantom ache?
Or like a flower, dead and buried, between pages of a book you don't read (anymore).
