Serenade

"Listen to my demons' serenade."
The last thoughts of my mom before she committed suicide.

I am standing in front of her, watching her dancing over the tune of "Gloomy Sunday".

She swayed her arms with compassion, then she introduced freedom to me.

Very graceful and alluring.
Someday I want to be like her.

I'm very amazed, that I didn't notice the most important thing.

Under the graceful movements of her dance, foundation of tears beyond her soul collapsed.

I didn't notice the pain under her mask.
Even the voice of frustration inside her longing heart.

I thought, everything is fine but I was wrong.

I still remember the last step of that dance.
She stepped on a chair, stretched her arms, She grabbed the rope then called me.

"Come here honey."
With a cold smile in her face.

I went near to her then she carried me.

"I love you honey."
She left a passionate kiss over my forehead.

From that moment, she started to cry.
She put the rope in my neck, then she hugged me very tight.

Once she'll removed her arms, my life will end.

But —death refused my worth.

Mom removed the rope, then she whispered the most obscure thoughts from her heart.

"Listen to my demons' serenade."

She smiled at me then grabbed the rope. After a few minutes, she hanged herself.

I have no idea about death
but I found it interesting and meaningful.

I watched her, until her last breath finally left her.

After the death of my Mom, I felt nothing because I finally heard the serenade of her demons.

"Set me free!"

And now, her demons are chasing me.
