Shadows

I live in their shadows
I walk along the dark trail they leave behind
I feed on the shadow of their love
all because i don't have a love of my own

all their laughter and smiles
and every beat of their heart
I take for myself
any kind of love will do

anything to fill the void in me
anything to make me feel love
anything to make me feel the way they do
anything at all

I've been living in their shadows
for far too long
never having enough for me
despite always wanting more

I know that the time will come
when i won't have to feed on shadows
but I kept seeing signs
that maybe i'll forever live by the love they leave in these dark trails.
