Sarah stared straight into is eyes as he knelt in front of her, begging her to take him in again, to let him into her life again. He was reciting this mantra over and over to her as tears welled in his eyes, trying to convince her that this was the last time, that this time, his heart was solely hers. He looked like his heart was being trampled over by a thousand raging rhinos. His hands were as clammy and shaky as he held onto hers really tightly, afraid of letting her go.
Sarah breathed in the cool spring breeze. Jake has been everything she's ever wanted in life. He was successful, smart, reliable, loving... she can't really ask for more. Except, he couldn't give her one thing: LOYALTY.
She wanted so bad to tell him to stop crying, because just seeing him stoop this low is just literally breaking her heart. She wanted to open her arms and cling onto him really tightly until she could absorb every single needle of pain that was causing him to cry right now. However, she had also seen this countless times before. Jake has begged her for her forgiveness thousands of times before. And every single one broke her heart as much as it pained him to stoop this low.
"She was nothing to me, babe. She was a mistake," Jake begged.
In a deadpan voice, she answered, "And so was Jennifer. Kimberly. Leila. Charity. Bianca. I thought one of them was supposed to be the last one every single time."
He shook his head vigorously. "This time, this time I promise I will never do it again. Please, I'm begging you. Don't take yourself away from me. I can't live without you! I want you to be my wife! I'll marry you tomorrow if that's the only way to make you stay! Please, just don't leave me."
She's a fool. She can call herself all the different synonyms to stupid and she'd still do what she's about to do.
Kids. Marriage. A family of her own with the man she loves.
Family - something she never had. An orphan like her could only dream of such a thing. And this man promises to give her that. Jake can provide her the dream she's been wanting to have her whole life.
However, she'd be tying herself to a man whom she knows will never be hers alone. Someone who can put her at the back of his mind once his lust and libido rises to the point that he can't keep them at bay. She'd be subjecting herself to a possible lifetime of pain and...
She's stupid. Idiot. Dumb fuck.
Because even after realizing those things, she still cannot bear to leave. She still cannot bear the thought of not having him in her life.
"I forgive you, Jake," she whispers as she kissed his lips... the very lips that was all over that other woman's body just moments ago when she caught them on their bed.
She loves a cheater, what a dumb fool she is.
