She wasn't what everyone wanted.
She wasn't what everyone needed.
She wasn't the girl her mother impregnated.
She wasn't the girl her father danced with.
She wasn't the woman her lover dated.
And she wasn't even love by her only friend.
She was not that girl.
That woman.
She was. But now she's not.
And she will never be again.
She wasn't what everyone wanted,
Who constantly hurt her with words,
But she was the one she wanted her to be,
A girl who is kind to her words that
No one can be hurt
even herself.
She wasn't what everyone needed.
Who bosses her around and abuses,
But she was the one she needed her to be,
A girl who is a believer of what's right from what's not,
Because that's what makes her difference,
From everyone she met.
She wasn't the girl her mother impregnated,
Because that girl was a mistake.
And she was not.
She's the right kind of girl living in an imperfect world
With full of lies and hatred
That she doesn't deserve.
She wasn't the girl her father danced with,
Because that girl was dancing naked.
And she knows now for a fact
That's not what she thought dancing was.
She don't need to undress,
To know what naked truth means.
She wasn't the woman her lover dated.
Because that woman was a martyr.
She was loving her lover in lies and covers.
She was loving him with wilted flowers.
But she wasn't that woman anymore.
She knows she deserves more.
And she wasn't even love by her only friend.
A friend who betrayed her and become a fiend,
And she knows that their friendship needs to end,
Before she hurt herself for trusting again.
A beloved that talks to her back and pretend,
Because friendship like this is not easy to mend.
And she knows now,
That she don't need her head low,
That she don't need to put on a show,
That she don't need to keep with the flow.
That she don't need to be the girl a year ago.
Because she is more of what she's thinking,
Because she knows what she's capable of doing,
Because she don't listen to what everybody's talking.
Because she knows she's not anymore just nothing.
Because she wasn't that girl anymore.
