"So This is Love?" The Real Deal.

Info

When love came, let me just say, it turned out... anticlimactic.

In a sense that it wasn't as enthralling or "crushing" as rom-com movies made it ought to be. There's no 'meet cute' to establish it unlike my past relationships that tried hard to appease with me. Only to leave when things left its "spark".

You were just... there, existing.

This was not familiar to what I've known for a while. No cheesy tropes, it did not follow any structure that I can refer to in books— so I was about as clueless when we were finally together. But no literature can back up how sure I was to share my life with you at that moment.

But there goes the fights, battle if I may say so once the romance ensues— I was ready for battle scars, pillows stained with mascara, and over the top gestures as we both beg to the heavens for us to make up.

Rather though, you were simple.

We communicated things that conflict didn't escalated to that rise of events to the supposed "mind blowing" climax.

It's a mess, out of structure, more so at the first few times our misunderstanding turned a bit too much to be called a fight— it did cross my mind that this is what's portrayed as romance (finally!)— there were tears shed, yes, even emotions got out of hand. We were both the stubborn type, hot headed even...

But after? I am left awkward and timid as the fall of events seems to turn quiet so soon as we make up for it. It didn't leave days for us to resolve it and turn up for a passionate kiss by the front porch for an apology.

Our walls just needed to be lowered, ease the tears, comfort the embers, and mend words that's scathed.

We simply got straight to the point, assessed what needs to be fixed and worked things out. How did it turn out so empathetic and analytical all the same? And this is where I would be baffled at myself. Media really made a fool out of me. This is the comedic part huh?

This is different and the reality; different from what fiction brainwashed us. Real as you made me realize, love that's true is mature and can be messy. Love brought out parts of me I didn't know; the good and bad. Though as confusing, it made way for me to learn to trust the process.

I just knew then on this is the real deal.

Love isn't supposed to be all magical, it isn't perfect but can be worked through its imperfection. That's what it makes it raw and genuine.

Love takes effort. Love is supposed to be handle in ways you both grow individually. Love goes beyond what a story could tell that's only within one book. Rather, love is a shared life long experience.
