The only thing my mom keeps on repeating is that no one can accept the bride, the only thing she can expect is the support if her husband and all the others are just against her no matter how good she is. And she also says what if there is no support from husband? And yes what if there is no support for her from her husband too. For what sake she has left her whole family and came here? And when I asked her “Then why should one get married? Why can’t they stay single? “ and then I got the best reply and I hope everyone could have guessed it. Yes, it’s the same routine answer which we get “Society would never allow a single woman to live in this society. There’s no scope for a single woman to survive in this society.” And then I was like what if the woman gets married but her husband dies and then she was like it’s a total different story, she yelled at me why don’t you understand a single woman is always weak and there would be no one to support her and she also mentioned there would be a queue before a single woman’s house, that is how this society sees a single woman. Keeping this aside, I was like “I don’t see anything going wrong , I mean like at least woman are not treated not even that bad as you say. See we all are fine right?” and she is like, we are here for you and you don’t even know how the real world is so just stop thinking about these unnecessary topics. But I just can’t do this. I dint even understand why we are the ones who are treated like this and why not men. Is that just because we are weak? Who said that, no we aren’t weak and there is something more than this and that is this society and this society includes even you and me, each and every one of us. Even in our college when our faculty speaks about women empowerment we are like, Oh God please, not again. It’s not because we don’t want to get empowered. I don’t what others feel but when it comes to me, it is like this “In these past few years we had listened that there someone on the other got raped. And as usual this would become the topic for most of them to talk when it comes to women empowerment, but what do they speak? Did anyone notice anyone accusing a girl in it. I hope no one because here, we need to support her but in reality it is the worst case. Just think of a girl who is independent and strong enough both mentally and physically. And one day, she got raped and unfortunately she was alive, yes I would say unfortunately because after the rape it’s not only the rape which makes her sick but also the society she has to face. The society in front of everyone would be like KILL THAT DAMN RAPIST, WHY THE HELL IS THIS GOVERNMENT NOT TAKING ANY ACTION AGAINST THEM and when they speak to others it would be like “Ughhh! This generation girls, who said her to go out . If the girl hasn’t done something wrong why would they rape her, she might be wearing something which made them do such things.” Seriously? Is this the only case, how we see rapes being happened, it’s the bloody idiotic boys who don’t have control on themselves and don’t even think about the girls life. And do you know the best part? When such things happen, there are some parents, who are like “Why are you alive, it could have been better even if you have died, how could we even face this society? “ According to me, this society is the one on which we have to aim at. They are the ones who make disgusting comments which effects the life a girl or women and not only of girls but also of boys. Because of this so called SOCIETY we had enough from our parents, who are those to judge us? So I expect next time if anyone is talking about women empowerment or something please include this SOCIETY which made so many to kill their dreams and also please get awareness about the things done by society to the same society, may be someone could change their opinion or think before what they speak. I think the huge problem being faced by today’s generation is this, I can’t even blame society for this because their mind set is fixed to this. So, please guys, if anyone gets to listen anything wrong from this Society as told you before this includes even our parents, you and me, please take a stand it’s not a mistake or sin to stand or argue for something which is good. I know you might find the ending quite stupid but seriously guys, I don't know what to say even the girls speak bad just because of their jealousy. Please stop gossiping about others and think before you speak.
