In some days, you have a dream come true.
However, there are days suited for moments in the depths of despair. Sadness and suicidal thoughts occupy your state of mind most the time. Not entirely a bad day, but you'll get through it anyway.
There are regular days for your thoughts to wander elsewhere. A carefree kind of day wherein you can watch the sun's rays touch your skin, hear heavy footsteps, or even savor every flavor of the lasagna you ordered at the restaurant. Simple things equate to pure thoughts.
Some days, you have to be serious and get real in business. By this, I mean, you have to work and let your mind focus. Do this and that. You have to work your lazy ass out of bed and become productive.
Some days are all laughter and excitement. May it be hanging out with friends, spending leisure with family, or doing charity works. Some days you feel satisfied because there's nothing to worry.
But there will be days where you have to face reality, and that is to decide when to stop.
From there begins our story of broken dreams.
You have to understand when to say no, even if the whole world is against you.
You always have to choose yourself even when your closest friends or family members will not support you.
It hurts if your ideal dreams are not the dreams meant for you. But the perfect goal for you will always come chasing you. It will always be right behind your back. All you have to do is to look back and think again.
"Am I on the right track?"
Broken dreams, like broken promises, may happen. It was hard for me to grasp what I have just decided. I got a scholarship that covers almost half of my tuition, but I got in a toxic environment, which, if I continue, I might lose myself in the process.
I have to stop, and I convince myself I must. It was a significant milestone in my life, and I never expected it to come to me as early as now.
Somehow, I realize that a lot of us, especially in our culture, it becomes hard for us to stop pursuing something that we thought was the best option. If we stop, they think we are losers for giving up. But stopping is not the end. It is just a way to assess your decisions over again but with a different perspective.
If any of you here reading this, decides to stop something that you are currently working on because your inner self tells you that this isn't right for you. Then let yourself go despite all the discouragements you get from people. Always remember that you are the only soldier who can fight for the battle of your life. Nobody else can do it for you. Never lose yourself in the process of improving yourself. Keep in mind that above others, you have to prioritize your welfare so that you can start thinking for others.
Don't get too serious with the people you had late night talks with.
