You don’t need to speak, you don’t have to try.

It’s clear how your eyes avoid mine.

Seemingly nervous when you’re by my side,

You don’t notice, even my smiles.

Worry not, my friend, it’s nothing.

Our closeness seemed to be forgotten.

Don’t need to ask why, 'coz I’ve been

Patiently forcing this feeling to go unseen.

A supernova, is all I am.

Exploded in your universe and now gone.

Perhaps I wasn’t just enough

To fill the space in your heart.

Convincing myself it’s not real,

But this would take time to heal.

I should have tried hard to hear

Those sweet little lies you reveal.

Boy, I don’t know why I even strive

To restore the flames of our washed-up fire.

Awful as it is, but I’m over

Hoping for this thing to recover.
