Sweet Summer Memories

While skimming through few stacks of old files I stumbled upon few pieces of chart paper cut and stapled together ...inside were few pressed leaves and flowers carefully taped down they were dry and had mostly lost their vibrant colours these scarp books were some lost reminders or rather traces of fun-filled summer vacations. These small books and albums hold a lot of value and adds that element of vibrancy to our lives .As we skim through the pages they  take us down to those moments which we once again would have a chance to relive . 

Sometimes these memories are preserved as small glass marbles,old drawings,pieces of paper, small pebbles which we often found lying by the streets or some that a friend has made the sacrifice to give it to us. all of these tiny little things are a souvenir that hold in the essence of our childhood. Another fun time is when you run around to get to your grandmother's place, meeting cousins and friends with nothing to do anymore , playing pranks fooling around ,racing to relish those ripe golden mangoes ,getting our hands messy as the yummy aamras trickles down while you quickly lick it away . And  then there is granny who prepares tummy loads of  yummy food which she makes sure that you eat until your tummy is more than filled and ready to burst.

 Storybooks are another great companions during summers they open up magical portals with adventure filled stories  that you read about without realising anything happening around until someone cousin decide to blow up a balloon and pop it right next to your ear and brings you out of the trance .. speaking of balloons waterballon fights are another fun memory of summers throwing them at each other and having fun without realising that you got in to dirty the house as well .. to finally getting a good scolding from mum.

Icicles and lollies sure has lots of fun memories built around them ..from tip towing out to buy them and  gathering around enjoying the cool ice with cousins and friends .  Thinking so summers have a lot of significance to our childhood and adds those beautiful hues to our memories . Playing from dawn to dusk , getting mud splashed all over ,roaming around in bicycles,and finally getting grounded for being hooligans...
